Tiffany Gates Etchell

Center Director & Teacher

Tiffany has worked with young children for over 20 years and has enjoyed every minute!  She began as an assistant instructor in Pre-Ballet and Tap classes and then became the main instructor for the early childhood dance classes at Diann's Dance Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  Tiffany taught dance for 10 years before finding the Music Together® program.  Music Together encompasses everything that she is passionate about - music, movement, creativity, education, and young children.  She became a Registered Music Together instructor in the fall of 2004.  She has taught Music Together classes for Wee Heart Music, Inc., Metropolis School of the Performing Arts, and Merry Music Makers, Inc.

Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Ohio Northern University.  She teaches private voice lessons and is Head of the Voice Department at Metropolis School of the Performing Arts in Arlington Heights. Tiffany has been a part of the theater community for over 25 years and has performed at NYC’s Lincoln Center, Cleveland's Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Cain Park, and Chicago's Music Theatre Works to name a few.  When Tiffany is not in the classroom or on a stage, she can be found singing at home, in the car, at the park, or even a store, with her 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter!

Megan Edwards

Teacher

As a young child, Megan wanted to add music to any potential profession. She wanted to be a police officer AND sing; an archeologist who sang; write books and sing. Combining two passions, early childhood development and music, is a dream 30 some odd years in the making. Megan has been teaching music to children in some form or another since the tender age of 14. She has also taught early childhood development and art. As a nanny she joked that she was Mary Poppins and now as a mom she jokes that her son Jake lives in a musical. She completed her undergrad at Columbia College Chicago and got a MBA from Keller Business School of Management.

Jacque Fenton Smith

Teacher

Jacque Fenton is an actor and singer from Detroit who has been directing and singing in choirs since she was 15. After appearing in an adaptation of The Snow Queen in Detroit, it became clear that working with children was the only route for her. She spent two years in New York working on small projects before settling in Chicago to pursue her two main loves: children's theatre and stage combat. She strives to find a balance in both music and theatre that appeals to children and adults alike. She completed her Music Together training in Spring 2016 and has a BFA in theatre performance from Wayne State University.

Emily Tarkington Egan

Office Assistant/Teacher

Emily’s music experience started with being a part of her high school Master Singers, Chambers, and Bel Canto singing ensembles. Later, she worked with children in her church nursery and started as a nanny in 2008. She was introduced to Harmonious Horizons when she began taking her niece to a class and watched how music became such an important part of her development. Two years later, she noticed how her nephew began to love participating in music as early as four months old and the songs carried on at home long after class was over. After three years of classes as a participant, Emily became a registered Music Together teacher in 2016. Emily loves children and using music to encourage and engage them in her classes!
